The National Environmental Law Association Limited (NELA) was our first client, and holds a special place in our heart! NELA is a charity dedicated to advocacy and education in the field of Australian environmental law. We helped NELA with a phased transformation of their technology platform.

As with many for-purpose organisations, NELA had a disparate technology platform which had been added to over time. Google Workspace, Dropbox and a legacy web-based project platform required lots of maintenance and inevitably led to duplication.

Solution 1? We implemented Microsoft 365. Best of breed tools including Office 365, Sharepoint and Teams means NELA volunteers can now operate on a singular, unified, modern platform which makes collaboration so much easier.

Onwards to phase two…

NELA is a membership based charity, with hundreds of individual, corporate, non-profit and student subscribers. All of the membership processes and records resided on WooCommerce, within a WordPress website. The complexity of the set up made it difficult to manage subscriptions, as well as maintaining the website.

Solution 2? We built a new, simple website in Squarespace that has an intuitive, modern user interface. Memberships were transitioned to a new CRM tool (Outseta), and events hosted on Humanitix which both seamlessly integrate with the website. Being able to operate on a new platform, free of the complicated WordPress environment has been a game changer. Hear for yourself…
